People who are considered to be in the top 1 percent aren’t merely working harder than everyone else. Of course, to reach a high level of success there will definitely be hard work and long hours. What’s most important, however, is for that work to be smart.
How can you work your way to this same success? Answer: Think like a millionaire. Sounds a bit ridiculous, I know, but it has some great value. First, you have to be focused on a goal. Then, there needs to be a clear vision, or targeted method to push you toward the top. After that, you must consciously build your network with people who think just like you. In the end, with the right systems in place, you will find the success you’re looking for.
The top 1 percent aren’t necessarily smarter
Smart doesn’t only have one meaning. The go-to is usually “having much knowledge,” and that isn’t wrong, but in this case, it’s more than that. Being smart (with finances and business) means being resourceful, capable, and willing to take risks. In addition, you have to use your time wisely and manage yourself effectively with that clear vision in mind.
What’s different about the top 1 percent?
While the normal person who is looking for great triumphs focuses on being the best, someone who is extremely successful looks for ways to dodge the competition in the first place. How can you do this? Come up with something new…maybe an innovative method of marketing or an out-of-the-box idea in your field of interest. Don’t just be the best at something, be one of the only one doing that thing.
Face the day early, and have a plan. The top 1 percent will routinely have an effective start to each day. As the other 99 percent are still deciding what they need to do, the top 1 percent will be following a schedule and busying themselves with their keystone habits. They show eagerness in the early hours of the day so they can feel productive and on a positive path as the day moves forward.
Knowledge is not a lonely skill…
Those who are considered the top 1 percent do, in fact, hold much knowledge. However, they also seem to know a little secret. Well, maybe it’s not a really a secret. It’s actually something everyone knows about, but doesn’t seem to do often enough. Here it is: An effective idea followed assertively and with persistence will continually outdo a perfect plan that is executed at less than full force.
How do they do it?
The top 1 percent will create groups or teams to carry out their plan. They will find out what they need know (gain knowledge they don’t already have) and then set to it to make it a reality. Don’t become of “jack of all trades” and pile knowledge upon knowledge. Become an expert in your desired field and take action. Someone who seems to keep learning new things, but isn’t making use of the new knowledge is most likely disguising their fear of taking risks. I know there are multiple factors to consider, but when it comes down to it, sitting back and not doing anything with your expertise just won’t cut it.
Priorities of the wealthy mindset
Financially successful people have distinct priorities. Focusing on these priorities is important because sometimes having multiple priorities will results in having none. How can you focus on more than one thing at a time, right? Multitasking is good for some things, don’t get me wrong, but not when it comes to building your wealth. I’m not saying you can’t build wealth from multiple angles, but you will naturally need to pay more attention to one specific area.
“You are who you know”
The top 1 percent will always have a strong network of individuals with similar values. Decent networking skills are something anyone can learn. It’s how you gain and use these acquaintances and mentors is what matters. And don’t worry, when I say “use” I don’ t mean anything malicious…just use for their knowledge, expertise and to possibly grow your network even further. Become friends with people whom you want to be like someday. Imitate what they do and study how they became successful…not in a creepy way, but in an admirable way.
How the top 1 percent uses systems
Objectives are reached more easily if you have some sort of system in place. For example, if your goal is to have good health, your system might be eating healthy foods and exercising regularly. Just the same, the method of saving and investing your money can easily build wealth. The top 1 percent tend to search for the most efficient systems; the ones that yield the best results. The system they choose will depend on their field of expertise, and eventually their goals are met, and continue to be met automatically. Overall, the top 1 percent have specific methods for everything and they appreciate why those methods are important.
In additions, most financially successful individuals are good at finding solutions to almost any challenge that comes their way. They have a mentality that if it’s not something they can tackle or accomplish alone, they will find the right person for the job. Overcoming challenges will start in the early stages of wealth building, and it never really disappears. The key is to find these solutions without getting too wrapped up in the actual issue. Focus on solving your problem and making sure you have a distinct action plan to do so.
Anyone can become part of the top 1 percent…
Lasting wealth takes time to build and it requires a shift in mindset. Be clear and firm with your priorities and do your best to stick to them. Make sure you understand how collaborating and creating a network of like-minded peers can be a great asset to your goal. Find your focus when cultivating the systems you will use to reach your goals and stress action from the start. In short: think like a millionaire.
